Flight and first safari on the river

Early wake-up, departure from your resort around 7:00 am for Malindi airport. Take off at 8:30 am — about 2 hours of flight. Arrival at the park around 11:00, where the game drives in the jeeps begin straight away.

  • Arrival at the lodge around 12:30, right on the Mara River — check-in, lunch, rest
  • Afternoon: the safari continues until sunset
  • Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
  • Hippos visible from the veranda

A full day in the signature park

Wake-up at first light, breakfast and departure for a full day of safari in the Maasai Mara. The reserve borders the Tanzanian Serengeti, forming a single ecosystem. Famous for its concentration of wildlife and for the celebrated migration of wildebeest and zebra (July–August).

  • All of the Big Five present — lions in large prides, cheetahs (endangered), leopards in the bush
  • Hippos in the Mara and Talek rivers
  • Millions of wildebeest on the move (in season)
  • Antelope (Thomson's, Grant's, impala, topi), herds of zebra, Maasai giraffes

Last game drive and return flight

After breakfast, departure for the last game drive. Then transfer to the airport for the return flight to Malindi and transfer to your resort.

Everything you wonder before leaving

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, even better than the road version because there are no long, tiring transfers. From age 6 and up.

When is the best time to go?

July–August: the great migration of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti — the most famous natural spectacle in the world. All year round: abundant wildlife because it is resident.

Can the programme be customised?

Yes. We can add an extra night, combine it with a sea excursion, depart from Nairobi instead of Malindi (road version). Message us on WhatsApp.

Are vaccinations required?

Yellow fever is mandatory if you arrive from an at-risk country. Antimalarial prophylaxis is recommended. Official info at viaggiaresicuri.it.
